Opelousas’ beloved coach, leaving for a new challenge at Baton Rouge – 103.3 goat

Coach Jimmy scratches, who runs the successful team campaign in 2023 for a state title, will head to Liberty Magnet High School in Baton Rouge to start the next stage of his coaching career. The news was announced on Tuesday, and although it is sad that he is leaving a city where he grew up and forms close ties, he is ready for the new job.

Liberty Magnet: 6 wins in 3 years

The high patriots of Liberty Magnet are not unknown to the state titles. In 2024, the boy basketball team beat St. Thomas more for the National Championship.

But the football team is a different question. During the past football season, the Patriots won only three matches as a whole and one in district 4-5A against the rival of Scotland (2-8, 0-5 district). However, he is not afraid of the challenge – he is ready to hug him.

State title in Opelousas

The Opelousas High School won its first ever football national championship in 2023 under Zachery. They defeated the district rival Cecilia in the title.

LHSAA undressed Opelousas from this title in early 2024 and also went after Zachery, although they eventually restored the title and dropped their investigation. It was an attack that the Opelousas (and Zachery) never forgot, carrying the passion that then investigated two rounds deep in the playoffs in 2024.

But the community celebrates its team and this community support is one thing that sews says he will miss him for Opelousas.

Cultural shock?

There is a lot of difference between Opelousas and Liberty Magnet – the latter has a basic academic focus and minimum requirements that you need to log in. It is also a 5A school, more than Opelousas high.
