First 5 San Bernardino and Smile SBC – part of the Department of Public Health of the San Bernardino County – celebrated the national month for dental health of the National Children’s Health Month with Thursday, January 30, the event.
The campaign encourages parents of young children to ensure that their children have good dental habits such as daily brushing, avoiding sugary drinks and visiting the dentist from the child’s first birthday or the first tooth, a news message said.
“It’s easy to ignore the importance of our child’s baby teeth and let us admit, make your young child brush your teeth can be a struggle that we can all connect with,” said the first 5 Executive Director of San 5 Bernardino Karen Scott. “That’s why we partner with Smile SBC every year to help families and children make dental care priority before your baby has teeth.”
