North Las Vegas (KSNV) – Windsor residents in North Las Vegas were presented with new housing renders that brought the excitement for decades to the creation.
The prevailing black neighborhood was still built in the 1960s as a segregated neighborhood. However, the homes were unconsciously built on errors and aquifer. As the underground reservoirs were exhausted, the land of Windsor Park began to sink.

The sinking neighborhood caused the homes to relieve and damage concrete structures.
In 2023, governor Joe Lombardo (R) signed the SB 450, the Windsor Ecological Park Law, which allocated $ 37 million for a refund to 93 homes. Following some delays, contradictions in financing and soil research, Windsor Park residents have participated in what Tammy Carter has identified as one of the most productive meetings so far.
“I had no meeting like this,” Carter said. “This can start from 7 to 8 months and the eventual relocation anywhere within the next 10 to 12 months is fantastic.”
Carter said new designs are a significant improvement in current homes. Residents had to get out of their homes to gain access to their garages and units for a dryer, but the new designs would remove this hassle. In addition, improvements in the flooring, cabinets and insulation were promised, Carter said.
According to Carter, the architect and the people involved in the project have taken the time to understand the concerns of the residents. It’s not just a back and a smile, Carter said that there is a real effort to connect with the community and the right mistakes.
“My parents, it was their first home. I was born and raised in this Windsor Park home, “Carter said. “And actually see my parents dream of handing over to my daughter, their granddaughter or my daughter has no words.”
