The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating a shooting early Saturday morning near the intersection of Hudson Street and West Palmer Avenue.
According to a TPD press release, officers were in the area at 1:13 a.m. when they heard gunshots. A crowd was fleeing the area and they soon found evidence consistent with a shooting, but found no victims.
The location is within walking distance of South Monroe Street businesses and the Florida A&M University campus.
Officers were soon notified that a man had arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, the release said.
As of Monday morning, no arrests had been made and the investigation remains open and active.
The incident marks at least the 54th serious shooting in the capital and county so far this year. According to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis of gun violence, 21 people have died and 44 people have been injured so far in 2024.
