On the border in Lubbock closes its doors – News/Talk 790 Kfyo

Another restaurant closed in Lubbock.

It is still in early 2025 and Lubbock has already seen its share of restaurants close forever. Over the weekend, another essential element of Lubbock closed its doors without many fanfare.

On the border Mexican grill and Cantina has been in Lubbock for a long time, but this past Saturday, the long -standing favorite has decided to close its doors forever. At the border, it was at 6709 Slide Road and closing many people, including guests surprised.

A call to the store on Saturday afternoon answered the manager who said the restaurant was already closed permanently at Lubbock. By Sunday morning, a U-Haul truck was seen outside the restaurant.

The border closure comes a month after Pei Wei, another longtime restaurant in Lubbock, closed its doors after 18 years. It is about even longer than that.
