(Gray News/AP)-The official cause of the death of Tony Linda Lavin for death is determined.
According to a death certificate derived from TMZ and also examined by people, Lavin died after “suffering cardiopulmonary arrest with lung cancer as the main cause.”
Cardiopulmonary arrest, also known as cardiac arrest, is the sudden loss of all cardiac activity due to improper heart rhythm, according to the Mayo clinic.
Lavin died in Los Angeles on December 29, 2024 at the age of 87.
Initially actor on the stage, she became an icon of the working class as a paper hat wearing a waitress of the Alice television sitcom in the 1970s.
She became a role model for working mothers such as Alice Haat, widowed a mother with a 12-year-old son working in a roadside dining area outside the Phoenix.
The show, with Lavin, who sings the themed song “There is a new girl in the city,” continued from 1976 to 1985.
This turned “Kiss My Grits” into a phrase and the participation of Polly Holliday as a waitress Fla and Vick Tebeck as a rude owner and chef of Diner’s Diner.
She worked recently in December, promoting a new Netflix series in which she appeared, “has no good deed” and filming the upcoming Hulu series, “Modern from the middle of the century”, according to Deadline, which for the first time reported her death.
She also appeared in 2024 as a guest star at Elbetbet, the spinof of the Good Wife.
Lavin grew up in Portland, Maine, and moved to New York after graduating from William and Mary’s college. She sang in nightclubs and ensembles of shows.
She and Steve Bakunas, an artist, musician and her third husband, turned an old car garage into the 50-seat Red Barn Studio Theater in Wilmington, North Carolina.
