Ochsner plans to expand $ 35.5 million in Grove, which will double the number of operating rooms, add 30 examinations and increase the amount of parking spaces at the medical facility.

The proposed expansion will be proposed to the Planning Commission of Baton Ruzh in March.

The work will include the addition of about 20,000 square feet to the building behind the Louisiana mall. Currently, the medical complex is about 206,000 square feet.

Supplements to the Medical Center will add four operating rooms, MRI and laboratory for women and children services.

Expansion is part of the efforts to satisfy the demand for the outpatient surgery and procedures and orthopedic services, said Charles D. Chuck D. Daigle, CEO Ochsner Baton Rouge.

“This investment in Grove will greatly expand our offers for primary assistance and special services for patients in Baton Rouge and improve access to excellent care that is integrated, comfortable and close to home,” Daigle said.

The Grove opened in 2019 and offers a wide range of services for patients, including primary and pediatric care, cancer care, daily surgery, physical and work therapy, diagnostics and laboratory services.
