NWS Topeka defines March 25 as a Spotter training date of Lyon County – KVOE

Storm training schedules have already been placed in the KVOE listening area.

The Estimated Service of the National Meteorological Service will conduct its training in Lyon County in the Family Hall of the Memorial Union of Emporia Preston on March 25.

Other training dates from the National Meteorological Services Service Topeka:

*March 20: County Kofi. 4-H Burlington Building, 605 Southern Third
*March 26: Maurice County. Judicial Base, 501 Main Apartment 12 in the Council Grove
*April 2: Osage district. Community Building in Lindon, 205 West 10
*April 8: Wabans County. Mission Valley Schools District, 12913 Mission Valley Road

The meetings start at 19:00 and the last 60-90 minutes.

The Wichita Office National Meteorological Service has recently announced dates for its coverage area, including Chase and Greenwood:

*March 3: Greenwood County. Eureka High School audience
*March 27: Chase County. Side Center Swope Park in Fold Cottonwood

These presentations begin at 6:30 in the morning.

Spotter Training sessions provide basic lessons for the storm structure, storm functions, high weather safety in several different settings and reading procedures.

KVOE will be live on the air and online updates, when difficult time threatens or is underway throughout the country, with social media reports via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. As has been the case for years, our coverage will be improved with information from the voluntary network of KVOE Storm Team Spotter.
