North Las Vegas police to discuss fatal police shooting – FOX 5 Las Vegas

Las Vegas, Nev. (FOX5) – North Las Vegas police are expected to release more details about the shooting that took the life of an officer and suspect.

The shooting happened on Tuesday, February 4th. In the area of ​​Camino Al Norte and Lone Mountain Road. The died officer is identified as Jason Roskov. The suspect was Alexander Matisse, 25.

Police claim to have participated in a second officer, Luis Machias-Venegas. It is not yet known whether he was injured or the degree of his involvement.

Police said they had answered someone who had pointed a firearm to someone else. When officers arrived, they tried to contact suspects, but he ignored commands.

The suspect would escape. Police found that the suspect was armed. They gave commands to show their hands, but the suspect again ignored them and began to approach officers.
