LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The North Las Vegas Police Department is investigating a fatal crash Friday afternoon.
Shortly before 1 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Centennial Parkway and Donna St. for a crash between two cars.
Police said there were two people in a white Toyota Avalon and two people in a blue Toyota Corolla.
Officers say in their preliminary investigation, the Corolla was on Donna Street just south of Centennial Parkway and stopped at a stop sign.
The Avalon was traveling east on Centennial Parkway approaching Donna St. and had the right of way, police say.
Police say the driver of the Corolla failed to yield and while crossing Centennial, crashed into the Avalon.
Both the driver and passenger in the Corolla were in their mid-seventies, according to LVMPD.
The three passengers in both cars were taken to Travma Medical Center.
The driver and passenger in the Corolla died at the hospital, police said.
Officers say the driver of the Avalon, 19 years old, suffered minor injuries.
The passenger in the Avalon also suffered minor injuries, police said.
Police do not believe impairment was a factor.
The NLVPD Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) was notified and took over the investigation.
The identity of the deceased, along with the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office.
