Wilmington, North Carolina – The cool start of Friday has led to icy roads in the Wilmington area, but the tendency for warming promises relief to the weekend. Morning travelers are called to drive with caution as the roads remain slippery until mid -morning when temperatures rise above zero.

According to the National Meteorological Service, today’s maximum temperatures will reach the mid-40 degrees in partial sunny sky, with a clearer sky expected later this afternoon. Minimum temperatures tonight will drop to about 20 degrees, so residents have to gather for low evening temperatures.

Saturday marks the beginning of a warmer trend, with maximum temperatures near 46 degrees and the sunny sky, dominant during the day. The elemental wind will be oriented from the southwest, which will create a nice afternoon. Saturday night will remain clear with minimum temperatures around 26 degrees.

Sunday will be even warmer, with maximum temperatures around 50 degrees and variable clouds. The minimum temperatures at night will fall to 32 degrees. Rain can move in the area on Monday with a 30% probability of rainfall, but temperatures will remain moderate, reaching 50 degrees.

Looking forward, Tuesday promises a sunny sky with maximum temperatures near 59 degrees. This tendency of warming is a welcome vacation for residents who tolerate icy roads and hot cold earlier this week.

Drivers should stay careful until Friday morning and prepare for lower temperatures at night. Take advantage of the sunny weekend for outdoor or local tasks.
