Non -Profit Art Art Contest for the Month of Black History – WBRZ

Baton Rouge – Metroomorphosis, a non -profit purpose, which focuses on transforming urban communities, holds an art competition for the month of black history.

Children aged 12-18 can present writings, digital art, or performances to win cash prizes and opportunities to publish their work. The topic that the organization wants to be embodied is Kumba, who has been swagging for the word creativity. This is the sixth principle of Kwanzaa, emphasizing the commitment to use skills and talents to make the community more beautiful and useful.

“KUUMBA: A Feast of Black Creativity, Innovation and Technology. We have three categories that people can obey. We have one for digital art. We have one for writing and we have one for performance. We want children to imagine a future where innovation And the technology made it better for everyone, “said Metromorpose Sherreta Harrison CEO.

The last day for submission is February 16th. The finalists will be selected on February 26 and will be invited to accept the Black Futures, where a winner will be selected for each category and receive $ 500.

The project is possible through partnership with the Baton Rouge Art Council. The works of the finalists will be presented in the exhibit of the “eternal celebrations” of the Art Council, which will continue until mid -March.

“The winning submission will have the opportunity to present your work in other publications throughout the year,” Harrison said.
