No. 20 Western Virginia stands up against the Valley of Utah to start the final swinging of the road – WVU athletics

Morgantown, W.VA. The Fight 20 Fight 20 of the University of West Virginia begins their last trip to the regular season with a match against Utah Valley at Leighton High School in Leighton, Utah, on Thursday night at 8:00 pm.

Western Virginia (8-6, 2-5 Big 12) is coming out of its most difficult section of the season as it faced six consecutive opponents. During this period, the mountaineers went 1-5.


Most recently, WVU lost to No. 5 in North Iowa on February 2 at the WVU Colosseum in Morgantown.


Fifth Year No. 3 Peyton Hall and Senior No. 10 Jet strickerberger Continue to lead the Western Virginia to the mats as they are near the end of the regular season. Hall remains unbeaten this year with 24-0 and is only four wins from Greg Jones’s bond for the most wins of all time in WVU.


Hall will face his highest-ranking opponent this season in Terel Baraklow No. 4 in the Utah Valley. Hall is 8-0 a year, with his highest-ranked victory coming against No. 6 of Oklahoma State Cameron Amen on January 19th.


Strikenberger won six straight games, beating five ranked opponents during this section. At that time, Strikenberger switched from Unnanked to the 125-pound weight of the class, dividing it to No. 10.
