No. 17 Wisconsin visits Maryland, downplayed the road section – Deadspin

With eight wins in his last nine games, No. 17 Wisconsin has been in a high gear, as he faces the most frightening section of his Big Ten schedule, playing four of his next five games on the road.

With Maryland (16-5, 6-4) for the first time for Wisconsin (16-4, 6-3) on this section on Wednesday night at College Park, Md.

“I never do a big deal, home or road,” he said. “If you have zero in what you need to do, what is happening beyond the lines does not matter, whether it is a noise from the crowd for you or against you, you still have to play.”

Badgers have done this extremely well since they lost three straight games in early December. In their last nine games, their lonely loss came on January 21 in Ucla, 85-83. Wisconsin followed with 83-55 Nebraska domination on Sunday.

Wisconsin, which is bound by the Duke of the No. 7 ranking in the country on offensive efficiency (Kenpom.com), is fueled by a 3-point star shooting. In the last two games, Badgers have made 32 of 67 shots (47.8 percent) of long distances.

The top two Wisconsin-John Tone goal scorers, which is an average of 18 points per game, and John Blacwell (16.3) -Sa managed the long-distance attack. While Tonje has hit 11 out of 18 shots (61.1 percent) from deep in the last two games, Blackwell has made 7 out of 14 (50 percent).

But all the badgers can shoot. Each of their nine rotary players, who are average double -digit minutes, have made at least eight threes this year.

Gard says the Wisconsin’s advantage from the rainbow is “partial system” and “participants in the part”.

Maryland enters Wednesday with a boom after winning two Big Ten games on the road after four disappointing losses at the conference and more than six points.

But the therapies have been pierced last Thursday with 91-70 disorder since then. 17 Illinois, followed by a 79-78 victory in Indiana on Sunday, when Rodney Rice struck the winning 3-Indian with seven seconds.

“We were in a really good training process all this year,” said Maryland coach Kevin Willard. “My big thing has been in the last two weeks, let’s just get better and learn how to win on the road.”

Against Illinois, Maryland’s Frontcourt players distinguished themselves, with Julian Reese producing 27 points and 17 rebounds and Derrick Queen contributed with 25 points.

Against Indiana, it was behind the scenes that the victory was victory when Rice scored 23 points, Jacobi Gulespi made 18 points and nine assists, and Selton Miguel added 15 points. The trio made a combined 12 out of 23 shots (52.2 percent) of a 3-point range.

Maryland is 4-0 at home against Big Ten’s teams this season. But Wisconsin did not tremble in the past, winning two of the last three meetings at College Park and led the total series 11-6.

“We fly around a private, charted plane,” Gard said. “We will have nice boxes for us on Tuesday afternoon, when we fly to Maryland, we stay in a good hotel. We fly around, playing basketball. There are many more difficult things in life that you can do.”
