Carolina is struggling to score on Saturday at Rupp Arena, shooting only 32.8% (19 to 58) from the floor

Lexington, KY. (AP) – Otega Oue scored 15 of its 17 points in the second half, and No. 14 Kentucky snapped with two matches with a 80-57 victory over South Carolina on Saturday.

Brandon Garrison got off the bench and scored 15 points for Kentucky (16-7, 5-5 in the Southeastern Conference), which won at home after losses from No. 4 Alabama (January 18) and Arkansas (February 1).

Colin Murray Boils scored 14 points for South Carolina (10-13, 0-10), which dropped his 10th straight game and remained wireless in the conference game.

Gamecocks fought offensively and went through a seven -minute stretch over the two halves without a goal in the field. They made three free throws during this section and were 4 for 22 of the 3-point range.

Wildcats welcomed Lamont Butler, who was out with a shoulder injury since January 25th. He scored eight points and provided the necessary protective elevator after Kentucky gave up an average of 93.5 points in consecutive matches. Starting guard Jaxson Robinson played after hurting his wrist practically on Friday and was referred to as doubtful.

  • Senior guard Jaykobi Wright had 12 points in shooting 4 out of 8. It was his first play in double figures since he scored 10 in Oklahoma as early as January 18th.
  • Senior guard Jamarius Thomas also scored in double digits for 15th Time this season, ending with 11 points. He went only to 3 of 12 from the floor and 1 to 6 at the back.
  • Carolina falls to 1-10 this season when she scores 69 points or less. Gamecocks are already 0-2 in games where they have scored 59 or less.

Carolina returns home to stand up to her 11th top-25s of the season, as she welcomes #25/Rvole Miss (17-6, 6-4 sec) for 7 hours (ET) on Wednesday. Kevin Fitzgerald (PXP) and former Gamecock Co -Clark (analyst) assistant coach will be in the call for SEC Network broadcast.
