Hialeah, Florida – Fleet Fleet chief head, chief head of the fleet of the Navy, Delbert Terel, Jr. visited the Naval Forces Center (NRC) Miami to talk about current and future Navy Center (NTAG Reserve (NTAG ) Miami and Naval Reserves (Navy Reservation Center and NAMI and Navy Reserve Center (NAMI and NAVY Reserve Center (NAMI and NAVY Reserve Center (NAVY Reserve Center Nami and Navy (Navy (Navy Reserve Center “NRC) Center Miami Sailors, January 22, 2025.
The question and answers session gave sailors to how the next few years at the Navy could look with Terrell, answering questions about progress, a call for service, staff blanks and training priorities.
“This event was great because it gave us a chance to be heard from taller windows,” says Alicia Chang from the 2nd class of aviation electrician attached to NTAG Miami. “The main head of the fleet did a great job, answering our questions – some of which I wouldn’t even think of asking.”
Chang also expressed that these conversations confirm that leaders listen to the needs of sailors, helping them feel heard and confident in staying in the ranks.
NTAG Chief Chief Miami Cesar Rohas expressed that the advantage of the head of the fleet directly responds to the investigations of sailors is his proximity to the policies and changes that are happening in real time.
“I think it went phenomenal,” Rohas said. “The sailors managed to get answers that I might not have been able to secure. The head of the fleet struck the nail on the head and managed to communicate effectively. The sailors moved away with a new level of knowledge, while receiving insights. They have a better understanding of where the Navy stands and what is in our future. ”
In addition to addressing workforce and training problems, Terrell offered valuable guidance while answering questions when calling all hands. He also took the opportunity to mentor sailors, sharing insights on staff issues and outside.
With more than 30 years of experience and life experience, he shared a short list of key principles for those present, such as: Be honest, be humbly confident, be consistent and leave inheritance.
Reflecting on the discussion, Terel mentioned that it was encouraging for him as well.
“After seeing how many prepared sailors came here today and heard their concern,” Terell said. “I know the fleet is in good hands.”
NTAG Miami operates 38 seats to dial in South Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, with a shared mission to recruit sailors with the highest caliber to support the needs of the fleet.
