New Zealand feature wins big at Santa Fe International Film Festival – Scoop

After sell-out screenings at the Sydney Film Festival, Lauren Taylor’s bittersweet comedy THE MOON IS INVERTED
won the Special Jury Prize for Feature Narrative at the 2024 Santa Fe International Film Festival, which Diversity Congratulations on the excellently prepared programming.

“It’s wonderful that the film has been embraced by an American audience and chosen for this prestigious award. I have been very moved by the response from audiences in Aotearoa and Australia and thrilled that the story is touching people’s hearts,sace taylor.

Since she was unable to travel to New Mexico, her co-star Robbie Magasiva, who is currently based in Los Angeles, presented the film and reported that the audience loved it. Acting legend Bryan Cranston was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the festival.

THE MOON IS INVERTED
also won Best First Feature at the A-List POFF Film Festival Black Nights in Tallinn and is available to watch from AroVision and stars Victoria Haralabidou, Elizabeth Hawthorne and Jemaine Clement alongside Magasiva and Taylor.
