New owners, part of the 30 -year history of the FRONT Street Brewery in Wilmington – WEK

Wilmington, NC (Wect) – North Front Street has been home to many businesses over the years and has been home to FRONT Street Brewery since 1995.

This makes it the longest-serving brewery in Wilmington and the seventh oldest in the state. Sam Sumner is part of this story.

“I’ve been in and outside this building for many years, over 20 years,” Sumner said.

He started as a cook chef in 2010 when he met Josh Cranford, who has been working here as a chef since 2007.

“I just shaken fried potatoes and made burgers,” Cranford said.

All this trembling and doing eventually led Cranford to the role of a manager, until this made Sumner leave for a few years for a culinary school, but the two kept in touch.

“I wanted to go back to the shore, I wanted to go back to home,” Sumner said.

Quickly ahead eight years, Cranford convinced him to return as a manager.

Now more than a decade after they started, the two are real partners and co -owners of the business.

A title would neither be prepared in her darkest dreams, and they are both proud.

“I really enjoy the industry business side and I get it really well, so I somehow crashed and I’m here now,” Sumner said.

They both plan to stay here.

“I want to say that this is a hardening of the fact that I am a person in the city center. I’ve been here for a long time and I’m not going anywhere, “Cranford said.

The new owners say that things are going well in the last 30 years, so they do not plan to make big changes.
