New medical marijuana dispensary opens in Baton Rouge: See where – AOL

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The state’s first licensed medical marijuana dispensary opened a satellite location in Baton Rouge on Friday, September 20th.

Cookies by Capitol Wellness, the new dispensary, will have a grand opening event at 1940 O’Neal Lane from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The event featured a second line with Rockin’ Dopsie, a DJ, food trucks and specialty vendors. According to a news release, Berner, rapper and founder of the Cookies brand, will attend a meet and greet and sign merchandise.

Registered medical cannabis patients are invited to attend, with on-site doctors offering $25 consultations for new and returning patients. Patients with anxiety, depression, insomnia and chronic pain are encouraged to come.

According to a news release, the first 300 patients will receive free tickets to the food truck.
