New County Coordinator of Extension to improve programming at Carson City and Storey County – Nevada Today

University of Nevada, Reno Extension has appointed Adam Carpenter as the new Carson City County County Coordinator and Storey County. He joins a growing team of coordinators working to improve and expand work programs to serve local communities.

Carpenter will work with community members, urban and district offices and colleagues for expansion to raise awareness of expansion programs available to residents in Carson City and Storey County. His efforts will focus on providing education opportunities in areas such as eating, youth development and environmental protection to add practical knowledge based on research directly to local communities.

“Adam has a valuable experience and a strong commitment to engage in the community,” said Holly Gatske, director of the northern extension zone. “His work will strengthen the partnerships and expand the impact of the extension in Carson City and Stofrai District, ensuring that residents have access to the educational expansion programs they need.”

Carpenter has a strong experience in education, community commitment and customer relationships. From 2014 to 2018, he was the leader of the post -school program for the Washoe School District Team, an initiative that provides elementary students in undervalued communities with additional academic support and enrichment activities. It is also completed as a replacement teacher.

Carpenter also worked as a coordinator of public events at the Museum of the opening of Terry Lee Wells Nevada by organizing educational events and scientific programs for teens. In the last five years, he has been a customer relationship specialist with healing health systems, providing a user experience and marketing support.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Carson City and the County County and work with the specialized team of Extension,” Carpenter said. “I look forward to contacting residents and helping to enrich the lives of people and families in both regions.”

Carpenter graduated from the University of Nevada, Renault with a bachelor’s degree in philosophy.
