New brunch options at this Perkins Road restaurant, local distillery takes on ‘Best in Class’ – The Advocate

New food and drink on the block

Brunch is back at Solera4205 Perkins Road, Baton Rouge, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday. Choose from Spanish French Toast, Gambas and Polenta, Sangria Specials and more.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse5252 Corporate Blvd., Baton Rouge, is adding new menu options, including A5 wagyu strip, lobster thermidor, truffle steak and more.

Oxbow Rum Distillery760 St. Philip St., Baton Rouge, won Best in Class White Rum at this year’s World Spirits Competition in San Francisco. Oxbow Estate Small-Batch White Rum is unaged, unfiltered and small-batch distilled, made from 100% high quality sugarcane molasses.

The Tasting Alliance organizes the World Spirits Competition in San Francisco, which is the industry’s largest and longest-running blind judging competition.

Halloween party: Thursday at Soji, 5050 Government St., Baton Rouge

Cap City Beer Fest: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday at 4th Street and Spanish Town Road, Baton Rouge

Buttercream Basics: 6 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, at Party Time, 3350 Bluebonnet Blvd., Baton Rouge

Enroll in this three-part class to learn how to assemble and decorate cakes, pipe buttercream, and create roses. The final class will conclude with the creation of a Bridgerton themed cake. Tickets are $90 per person and can be purchased at partytimebr.com. Dates include November 6, 13 and 20.

Wine and spirits

Vending machine wine dinner: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, at City Pork Jefferson, 7327 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge

The chefs at City Pork will present a five-course wine dinner in collaboration with Vending Machine Wines and Wild Bush. Enjoy a butter board, clams and fries, short ribs and more. Expect a full menu. Tickets are $125 per person and can be purchased at citypork.com/jefferson-events.
