What is the “founder” for?

In the 21st century, McDonald’s became Takeaway Titan, which is proud of almost 42,000 places around the world, but the emblematic fast food breakfast was not always a begemota we know today. Flashback to the 1950s, and McDonald’s was just a restaurant operating in San Bernardino, California by two brothers, Mack (John Carol Lynch) and Dick (Nick Punman).

Developing a better way to offer burgers, fries and shakes from their competitors for dinner, McDonald’s is a thriving business that catches the eye of ambitious but weak, salesman Ray Crock (Michael Keaton). Naturally, he wants a piece of (apple) pie and convinces the brothers to partner with him

However, while McDonald’s siblings are content with maintaining their work with a small focus on customer service and quality food, Crock sees a bigger picture and wants to build an empire. He soon works behind the scenes to usurp the brothers’ control and steal the company.

McDonald’s movie should not be so good

It may be a little strange that I view the “founder” as a “comfort movie”, given that its back half is related to corporate schemes. In the third act, Ray Crock surpasses the McDonald’s brothers and has seriously gloomy tactics to achieve his ultimate goal. Conversely, this is the first hour to strike such a charmingly pleasant tone. Part of the charm is the setting of the 50, but I also really enjoy the sequences in which Mac and Dick explain the innovative McDonald cooking system of Kroc.

The Founder is completely based on Michael Keaton’s shoulders in the lead role, and former Batman actor comes to life, who, despite his many mistakes, was undoubtedly a marketing guru, to life in a really fantastic way. Crock may be the leader of the film, but he is represented as the overall antagonistic power of the piece, and the “founder” can act more as his story about the origin of the villain.

However, however phenomenal it may be like Ray Crock, my favorite performance in the whole movie is Nick Offer like Dick McDonald. The more confrontation of the two brothers, Dick is not sure to reach an agreement with Crock in the first place and defines it as a “wolf in the hen.” As Crock becomes more and more, watching Dick tries to control it, it is compelling, even if it has a tragic meaning, the effort is useless.

While the first half is my favorite McC, in which Mack and Dick give Kroc a tour of a tightly choreographed kitchen system of McDonald’s is an accent and often becomes viral-spectators looking for more drama and higher bets will find many chewing, As the film reaches its bitter conclusion (an emphasis on the bitter part). The Founder successfully takes care of both extremes, he begins as a nostalgic look at the first days of an iconic American breakfast before showing how the relentless business can turn something that seems useful and uninished in a conglomerate.

The founder was not many of the Cassie’s draw when he hit the theaters in 2017, but the critics were largely impressed. The more audience reviews praise the “founder” for their “incredible writing” and “captivating history”. Praise for Michael Keaton’s performance is also a common topic in reviews, which is not a big surprise.

Whether you are the McDonald’s connoisseur or you can’t tell McCchic of McMuffin, the “founder” is a pleasant biography that outlines the rise of one of the most successful American exports in history. Michael Keaton is fantastic, as Ray Crock and the supporting cast around him deserve just as strong praise, especially Nick Punman and John Carol Lynch.

Starting as a completely enjoyable watch, the founder becomes more and more wicked as it progresses (although the middle part is simply enchanted, with the uninteresting love life of Crock gets too much attention). By the very end, this is almost Machiavellian tragedy (a McHyvelian tragedy, if you will). Nevertheless, although his second half was descending into a corporate and contractual war, I cannot but look at him as one of my favorite comfort watches. And unlike McDonald’s oily hamburger, he can enjoy completely without guilt.
