OBITUARY

Mr. Ned Lamar Sharon, 75, of Port Carbon, died Friday at ManorCare Health Services, Pottsville.

Born in Tremont on June 26, 1931, he was the son of the late Delbert and Jennie Corr Sharon. He was a 1949 graduate of Tremont High School.

He first worked for Allied Chemical, Pottsville, then Alcoa, Cressona, and finally worked as a mold fitter for United Receptical, Pottsville, for 17 years until his retirement in 1994.

He was a member of the Lutheran Church of St. Paul, Port Carbon.

He was a member of the Senior Citizens, Port Carbon and the American Legion, Minersville.

He served in the US Marine Corps as a sergeant during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford Sharon and Delbert Sharon; a sister, Grace Wolfe.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline “Jackie” Garland Sharon, Port Carbon; two daughters, Lori Ann Steinhart and her husband John Steinhart, Pottsville, and Nedra Lynn Stephen and her fiance Jamie Howells, Minersville; four grandchildren, Tyler Stephen and Kelsey Stephen, Minersville, and Aaron Steinhart and Tanner Steinhart, Pottsville; several nieces and nephews.

A religious service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon, officiated by S. Regnal Leibensperger SALM. Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
