Eleanor Anderson Driscol, 95, from Wilmington, North Carolina, peacefully died on February 14, 2025 at the sunrise of Paoli in Malver, Pennsylvania. Born on June 9, 1929 in Walesville, New York, she is the daughter of the late Leo P. Anderson and Merry Anderson. Eleanor is preceded by death by his beloved brother Joseph R. Anderson, who died at the age of 85.
Eleanor was married to Bernard Eugene Driscol of Walesville, New York, who died in 1998. Together they raised three sons: Bernard, plus twins David and Daniel. Her love for her family was immeasurable. Eleanor was a devoted and hidden mother, grandmother and great -grandmother, finding boundless joy in the lives of her children, seven grandchildren and six great -grandchildren, all of whom brought her great pride and happiness.
The proud graduate of the School of Nurses in Elmira in Elmira, New York, Eleanor dedicated his professional life to the field of healthcare. She has been the director of nurses at Paoli Hospital for many years, where she was respected because of her compassionate guidance, a tireless dedication to patient care and a deep impact on the life of both colleagues and patients.
Eleanor enjoyed sports events, concerts and gardens.
Eleanor and Jean move to Wilmington, North Carolina, where they found peace and joy along the coast. The couple often enjoyed strolling along the shore of Wrightsville Beach, enjoying quiet moments together. She voluntarily participated as an associate professor in the performing arts in Wilmington and at a women’s clinic in need.
Eleanor was a pious Catholic. Eleanor’s most enjoyable joy in life was her faith and family. She will be remembered by the power, grace and abundant love she shared with everyone who knew her.
Reckoning is planned for the beginning of the summer in Walesville, New York.
