The Cleveland Cavaliers tied a franchise record by winning their first eight games of the season with a 116-114 victory against the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Cavaliers tied a record set in 1976-77 with a win in which Darius Garland scored a career-high 39 points against a Bucks team without the injured Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Garland hit a 3-pointer with 45 seconds left and then set up Jarrett Allen for a layup with 12.2 seconds left to seal the win.
“It’s hard to get one [win] so eight is crazy,” Garland said.
Damian Lillard scored 36 points for the Bucks, who led 106-98 with just over six minutes remaining but couldn’t prevent their team from losing its sixth straight game.
Cleveland also beat the Bucks 114-113 on Saturday when Donovan Mitchell scored with 0.3 seconds left.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are also undefeated this season as they won their seventh straight game by winning Orlando Magic 102-86.
Jalen Williams scored 23 points for the Thunder, while teammate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 21 points.
Elsewhere, Stephen Curry returned after a three-game absence to help the Golden State Warriors beat Washington Wizards 125-112.
Curry returned from spraining his left ankle to score 24 points against the Wizards as the Warriors improved to 4-0 on the road.
The Detroit Pistons ended a seven-game losing streak with a 115-103 win vs Los Angeles Lakers.
Jaden Ivey scored 26 points, while Pistons teammate Cade Cunningham posted a triple-double of 17 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.
The Lakers’ Anthony Davis, who continued to play in the fourth quarter after appearing to be bothered by an ankle problem, led all scorers with 37 points.
Kevin Durant scored 35 points to inspire Phoenix Suns to a 118-116 victory against Philadelphia 76erswhile on Boston Celtics beat Atlanta Hawks 123-93.
