Murphy attends schools in Trenton to celebrate the transfer of property – Witn

Trenton, NC (Witn) – Today, Congressman Greg Murphy has visited Jones Primary School and Trenton elementary school to celebrate the transfer of ownership of schools in Jones County.

According to Murphy’s cabinet in 2018, hurricane Florence severely damaged the Jones Senior High School and Trenton elementary school, giving rise to school infrastructure.

Through a public-private partnership, Murphy’s office says a new facility has been built to replace the old facilities and the campus ownership has been officially transferred to Jones County.

“It was an honor for me to celebrate the new, state-of-the-art campus for the Jones Senior High School and Trenton Primary School,” said Congressman Greg Murphy. “Hurricane Florence devastated East Carolina, including much of Jones County. I am proud of the public-private partnership that made this endeavor possible. This campus will serve our community well and will create such incredible opportunities for the success of students. I look forward to hearing about all the incredible achievements that will come and thank everyone participating in this wonderful project for their contribution. “
