MPD: At least two people shot in downtown Madison – WMTV

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) – Two people are in the hospital after a shooting early Sunday morning, according to the UW and Madison police departments.

MPD says the shooting happened near W Gilman and N Broom streets.

UWPD sent out an emergency “off campus alert” via their BadgerSAFE app at 2:51am to avoid the area of ​​W Gorham St and N Broom St.

Nine minutes later, another alert asked people to also avoid the area of ​​W Gorham St and State St at 3am on Sunday.

MPD confirms the scene is still “very active” as of 3:30 a.m

They say their anti-violence unit is helping with the investigation.
