Moxie on Monday: Go on a hike! – Seattlemag

I have the perfect antidote for you. Go to a hike! And I mean that in the best possible way.

There is something about tying your sneakers, breathing fresh morning air and immersion in nature, which overturns the switching of your energy, clears the mental cluster and leaves you to feel irresistible.

For me, it all started with a hook play in Mount Raise National Park – and Wow, was it worth it.

Changing the landscape, a change of heart

If he had told me four years ago that I would leave Sunny LA for the Fogy Pacific Northwest, I would have looked at you as if you were crazy! I was convinced that everything less than 300 days of sunlight would send me in a spiral down.

But life, as it often does, there were other plans.

The moment I entered the lavish, emerald landscapes of Washington, my heart opened wide. Towing trees, endless coastline, waterfalls that looked straight out of a fairy tale – it was the nature of the steroids and I was hooked. Of course, I did what any respectable one, unfolding trees seeking an adventure hippie woman, would do: I grabbed my puppy, Moxie and went to look at my new yard.

State Washington has been postponing my soul for months. Finally, I stopped saying “I’m too busy” and answered the call of nature. Nothing could prepare me for that opinion. The current dopamine tide and the inspiring miracle brought tears of joy in my eyes. My inner child had a day in the field.

Why is tourism the supreme mood amplifier

If you need impetus to hit the paths, here’s your sign. Tourism is not only to put one leg in front of the other. This is a total restart of the mind of the body.

Science also supports him.

• Tourism burns 400 to 700 calories per hour. Who needs a treadmill?
• Tourism increases mental health and cuts stress as a boss.
• He holds your heart, brain and bones strongly.
• It connects you from technology and connects you again.
• It has been shown to lower cortisol and imitate the effects of meditation.
• Inspiring awe, miracle and creativity.
• floods your body with happy hormones.

Professional Supreme Hike Tips

Before you take your bottle of water and develop, keep in mind these tips:

• Plan forward. Download a path to the path before you go, as the cell service may exist.
• Dress smartly. The layers are your best friend. You will warm as you walk.
• Fuel up. Wrap snacks, water and sunscreen.
• Choose your way. National parks are huge. Select your path before you leave.
• Respect nature. Some areas are out of the puppies, so check before you bring your fluffy friend.
• Enjoy the moment. Stop. Breathe. Take the views. (And don’t forget to click a few pictures!)

Your challenge this week? Make a hike! Whether it’s a rough mountain path, a relaxed local forest path or even a city park, just go out. Let nature do what it does best: restore, recharge and remind you that you are strong, capable and alive.

For an additional bonus and guaranteed dopamine tide, do not be ashamed to hug a tree or two. Remember to hug yourself like no one is looking. Most probably no one is!

So, take your sneakers, find a path and make a hike. Your body, mind and spirit will thank you.
