The Capital City Swim League Championships and Metro Cross Country meet help highlight the weekend’s non-football action.
The CCSL Championship Preliminaries begin Friday with two sessions at the Crawfish Aquatics pool.
The Metro cross country races are set for Saturday morning at Highland Road Park.
The girls’ CCSL prelims begin at noon, with the boys’ prelims to follow at 4 p.m. Saturday’s boys and girls finals begin at 1:15 p.m.
Catholic High and St. Joseph’s Academy are the defending champions.
Episcopal’s Rylee Simoneaux and Dutchtown’s Matthew O’Konski are among the competitors to watch.
St. Joseph and Parkview Baptist are the defending Metro cross country champions. The girls three-mile race is set for 8 a.m. in Highland, with the boys three-mile race to follow at 8:30 a.m.
Parkview’s Aidan Monister has been the boys’ top runner all season. Michelle Daigle of St. Joseph and sisters Lucy and Molly Kramer of PBS lead the list of girls to watch.
