Lubbock, Texas (KCBD) – I expect more record high temperatures in the coming days, but first … much more cool today. Then the Daily Records are probably the next three in the afternoon before the cool air begins to spill back into the area this weekend.

Yesterday (Monday) heat recording. The Supreme of 91 ° at the Lubbok Airport deleted the record for the date (81 ° in 2021), tied the record for February (2/11/2017) and was the earliest day of 90 degrees during the year (was 2/11/11/ 2017). Although not so warm, Lubbock area temperatures today will reach a maximum of 5 to 10 degrees above average for early February. In the Childress area, the maximums can be up to 10 degrees below the average, while in the Hobbes area about five degrees above. There will be a significant high -cloud cover with a little whiff (about 10 to 20 miles / h), adding a little cold to the air.

The sky will clear around noon tomorrow with the sun’s sunbathing and a return Westerly breeze, wearing another afternoon with record heat.

Temperatures will make a slight immersion on Thursday, but they are still likely to break records for the date.

Another record high Friday is expected with high 15 degrees above average for the date.

The more cool air will start to return to the area on Saturday, with a significant drop in temperature on Sunday and will continue early next week. The spring model of this week is likely to be replaced by a more typical model of winter. It can even include some light winter rainfall. Something to watch.
