Monteval – Visitors to Monteva will already have a new accommodation in the heart of the city.
In the coming months, the location of Coblstone Inn and Suites will be added.
The hotel will be located at 555 Main Street, opposite the mayoralty of the corner of Main Street and Shelby Street.
Steve Gilbert, Monteval’s city official and cashier, gave more details about the project when the project is ready to start.
“We hope to start construction this spring,” Gilbert said. “At the moment, they (cobblestone) are completing another project in Alabama. Then we are online, so we hope to break the ground in the spring. “
COBLESTONE INN AND SUITES is part of the Hotels Coblstone chain. COBLLESTON usually has upper medium-sized hotels suitable for smaller communities that may not be served by larger hotel chains.
Gilbert believes that the announcement of the new hotel fills the need for Monteva.
“The city needs a place for guests overnight for a while,” Gilbert said. “Of course, (the hotel) will affect the city with sales and sales tax revenue. When people come to visit the community, (Montevalo) University, the American Village and the National Cemetery, which will usually shop while they are here. It will definitely be an economic impetus to the community. “
Shelby County County Manager of Tourism and Event, Kendall Williams sounded this mood, stating that it would be a big deal with everything that was happening in Monteva.
“The presence of a new hotel is super exciting for all the events that Monteval’s host,” she said. “With the University Center for Arts, the new mountain bicycle course and American Village, the presence of a hotel right there in Monteva will make the experience of visitors even better.”
She also added that this would affect the city for the extra revenue it could bring.
“Naturally, when people come and stay in place, they tend to eat at restaurants there, buy gas there and shop in stores that are nearby,” she said. “That’s great for Monteva as a whole.”
The amenities of the hotel will include a hot breakfast, high -speed internet, swimming pool, meeting area, business center and conference room.
The hotel will be located in the old Victory Car Center in Monteva, which has been observed over the years, including brewery and a new mayoralty at one point.
However, a hotel will now fill the corner on Main Street and Shelby Street, which will be designed to meet the flow of Monteva’s main street.
