Fremont – The Montague boys will be well represented in the individual regional wrestling tournament this week.

Six Wildcat fighters ended in the top quarter of their respective classes in the Division 3 tournament in Fremont on Saturday.

Montague was led by district champion Maverick Osborne with 285 pounds. Fletcher Tomen (150) and Isaac French (175) finished second. Gavyn Maddox (144) and Malachi Plunkett (190) claimed to be completed in third place. Kaiden Jeffry rounded Montague’s qualifications with the final in 190.

“Overall, I think we were fighting well,” said Wildcat coach Christopher Madox. “We had a few children who released the blood circle matches that I felt we could have and we had to win, but we are still grateful for the opportunity. What is even more promising to our team is that of the six qualifications, five of them return next year. All of them for the boys who have lost in the “blood” and we have good potential for the future. “

The regions are set for Saturday in Whitehall.
