PHOENIX – Heavier traffic can be expected on the westbound Interstate 10 in Phoenix as well as the 101 in Glendale Monday afternoon before the game between the Arizona Cardinals and the Los Angeles Chargers, state transportation officials said.
Drivers should expect busier-than-normal conditions due to a combination of football and regular West Valley traffic, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Kickoff at State Farm Stadium is set for 6:00pm on October 21st.
Fans traveling to the game from the Southeast Valley should consider using the west/northbound 202 to bypass I-10 in downtown Phoenix.
Stadium parking lots will open at 2 p.m. Monday, according to the city of Glendale.
Glendale will close the Loop 101 off-ramps at Cardinals Way and Maryland Avenue near the stadium from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday to help with traffic, ADOT officials said.
Real-time highway conditions are available on ADOT’s Arizona Traveler Information site at az511.gov or by calling 511. ADOT also provides information and updates through its Twitter feed, @ArizonaDOT.
