Livingston – a dog was in a car stolen in Hammond, which was later involved in the pursuit of Interstate 12 on Saturday, officials said on Sunday.
Chico, an annual black Dutch shepherd, was not in the car after police chased him and arrested a 14-year-old boy, who said he was driving the car. The dog was found and returned to his owner.
The car was stolen around 7:45 pm Saturday outside the planet on the West Thomas Street in Hammond, according to police in Hammond.
Later, this was noticed by Baton Rouge officers who tried to stop the car and expelled the pursuit, which passed into the parish Livingston and included shots fired in the law enforcement agencies before the car stopped at Holden’s exit.
Investigators then found that a firearm, which was thought to be linked to the incident near the red oak overpass, the Livingston sheriff reported.
The teenager is placed at the minor detention center for minors in Florida, the Sheriff’s office said.
