Minnesota Vikings ended the 2024 season with a record of 14-3 and this is a big jump from their record 7-10, where they were under .500. They began to go hot 14-2 at the 16th week, which was their best start to the season since 2009. Their great protection with Brian Flores and the appearance of Sam Darnold after the injury to the meniscus of the rookie QB JJ McCarthy was the biggest reason for their turnaround. Although they lost Kirk’s cousins at a free agency, leaving Daniel Hunter to walk and deal with injuries like ACL Tears by Christian Darisau, they still showed strength and stability to stick to the fifth seed in NFC.
Offensively Vikings clicked on all cylinders and were an average of 25.4 points per game, which was 12th in NFL last season. They were led by 4319 passing yards of Sam Darnold and of course Justin Jefferson, who ended the season with 1533 yards received. Their defense was not bad, but they were not exactly good as they were ranked 16th in the overall defense last season.

The season hit a wall as they stood against La Rams in the Wildcard circle on the playoffs and lost brutally with the end result of 9-27. Now that the extra -season has started, there are various conversations around the team. Especially for who will keep the Vikings? Will they keep Darnold Sam and prevent the growth of a rookie QB McCarthy, or will they trade Darnold and put all their faith in a rookie QB, who has not yet played a single game? We’ll get to know soon.
