Miner dies in the southern accident of W.VA – WSAZ

Boone County, W.VA. (WSAZ) – Coal miner died after injuries suffered Wednesday morning in Mina in Boone County, the government of Western Virginia Patrick Morrisi said in a message.

55 -year -old Stephen Fields of Chauncey, West Virginia, died after the Progress Surface Mine incident in Twilight, West Virginia.

Morrisey released the following statement:

“I am deeply saddened to hear about the death of one of our brave coal miners, Stephen Fields. Stephen tragically died after an incident in the last mine of progress in dusk, WV. All Western Virginians must keep Stephen’s family and loved ones in our prayers.

“Our miners are one of the most industrious, humble and courageous people in our country. They are really the backbone of West Virginia. We are deeply obliged to these brave men and women and continue to pray for their safety. “

The West Virginia Health, Safety and Training Service was in place and will investigate.
