Midwest Machinery opens new facility in Madison, Minnesota after fire – West Central Tribune

MADISON — Midwest Machinery is opening a new 60,000-square-foot facility at a new location east of Madison to replace its building that was destroyed by fire on March 21, 2023.

It was an 18-month project to rebuild the John Deere dealership serving the Madison area.

The newly designed one-story building features a state-of-the-art service shop, fully stocked parts area, offices and showroom, according to a news release from Midwest Machinery.

“We have suffered a significant loss, but the resilience of our community has turned this challenge into something remarkable,” said Jamie Borstad, location manager at Midwest Machinery.

“We are deeply grateful to our customers, employees and community members for their patience and support over the past year and a half. I am honored to be a part of such a strong community,” Borstad added.

Construction of the new dealership began more than a year ago.

“Our new facility is designed to help our team better meet the needs of our customers,” said Ron Reitmeier, CEO and President of Midwest Machinery. “The additional space and improved equipment will allow us to provide more timely service and support throughout the year.”

After the fire in March 2023 at the facility on the east side of the city, Midwest Machinery moved its operations to a leased facility in the city to continue providing services to its customers.

More than 100 personnel from 25 different fire departments and other agencies in the region battled the blaze, which destroyed the original facility and most of its contents.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new facility will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at 2390 241st Avenue just east of Madison.
