Midland Baseball Drops Out -Opening DoubleHeader in Texas Weslian – Rural Radio Network

Fort Worth, Texas University in Midland opened its 2025 season with a two-day trip to Texas, starting with a two-headed Weslian on Friday afternoon. The warriors fought hard, but came out short, fell 8-5 in the opening and 2-1 in the night glass.

Game First: Texas Weslian 8, Midland 5

Josh Hardamon took the warriors to a strong start, turning RBI double to the right field in the first Innning. Hadin Crawford followed the RBI single in the center, bringing home Hardamom to give Midland a 2-0 lead.

Texas Weslian responded in the lower half of the inning, ranked two hits and running a mileage to reduce the deficit to 2-1.

After an unsuccessful second, Aries broke out in the third, gathering three hits and setting four runs to take advantage of 5-2 advantages.

Midland breaks his land in the heel. Aimir Perez reached the base after being struck by the pitch, and the pinch, Cooper Beneke, followed with a RBI double to cut the deficit to 5-3.

Texas Weslian responded at the bottom of the frame, turning three more tracks to extend its lead to 8-3.

The warriors were looking to gather in the seventh. Jacob Likori led by first on the wild, and Perez followed a double to move it to third place. Pincetor Dax Wandler was struck by a step to load the bases by setting up Nathaniel Reyes, who delivered a RBI single in the center, inserting Liquori and Perez. Alec Vilanueva followed with single to recharge the bases, but Texas Weslian held firmly, recorded three outs to secure the 8-5 victory.

Second game: Texas Weslian 2, Midland 1

The rams struck first at the bottom of the second, strung three hits to set a mileage for 1-0 lead.

Midland replied in the third. Villanueva reached the base after being struck from the pitch, and Haramon followed in a double to the right field, driving in Vilanueva to even the result at 1-1.

The teams remained locked in a pitcher match to the bottom of the seventh. Texas Weslian put two runners on board with a pair of hits, then took advantage of the wild terrain to score the top and to provide a 2-1 win.

Next, Midland (0-2) will face (RV) Houston-Victoria (6-1) at a neutral two-headed on Saturday, February 8th. The first terrain is scheduled for 12 hours in Fort Worth.
