NBA legend Michael Jordan again demonstrates his commitment to return to the community by opening his fourth health clinic for the uninsured in North Carolina. The latest addition to the Michael Jordan Medical Clinic network is located in Wilmington, Jordan’s hometown and officially began to welcome patients on February 19, 2025.
The new facility with an area of 7,300 square feet has 12 rooms for patients and works on weekdays from 8am to 5pm. It aims to provide complete primary assistance services to persons who are uninsured or insufficiently insured by dealing with With the critical need in the community. This clinic is the second, open at Wilmington, after the success of the first clinic, which serves nearly 1,800 patients in its first nine months.
Jordan’s philanthropic efforts began in 2019 when he partnered with Novant Health to launch the first two clinics in Charlotte. These clinics were strategically set to deal with the barriers to care, such as transportation, and have since provided basic medical services to many patients who have never had a visit to primary care. Based on this success, Jordan donated $ 10 million to Novant Health foundations, allowing the clinical network to expand to Wilmington.

In addition to primary care services, the new clinic will have a community health worker to assist patients with access to community resources. Both clinics in Wilmington also support the work of the Novant Health Community cruiser, which further expands health services throughout the region.
