The Miami Police Department is reportedly in possession of critical video that captures the exact moment El Tiger was fatally shot. However, the footage alone does not definitively identify the shooter, as reported by the Univision journalist Daniel Benitez. “Police are still in the process of gathering the necessary evidence to formally charge someone with this murder,” Benitez revealed during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel.
Speculation has been dismissed and the investigation is progressing
Benitez also noted that police sources have assured him that they do not believe — contrary to some speculation on social media — that El Tiger’s killing is connected to the Latin Kings or other criminal gangs. “This appears to be a much more personal matter, suggesting that the killer was someone very close to El Taiger, with no ties to the Debts or the Latin Kings, but rather involving another type of operation,” the journalist stressed.
Despite the ongoing investigation, Damian Valdez-Galoso remains a significant person of interest, but no arrest warrant has yet been issued for him. “It’s clear that the police and prosecutors lack convincing evidence to find a suspect, even though they’re closing the case, they need proof beyond a reasonable doubt,” Benitez explained.
Insights from influential people and eyewitness accounts
Influencer Alexander Otaola also references the same video, providing additional details. Although he hasn’t seen the footage himself, he has shared a description of the events it is believed to have been filmed. Otaola mentioned that the video depicts El Tiger arriving at Damian’s residence in Hialeah in the early hours, looking “visibly angry.”
After kicking in a door, a man is seen exiting the property and after a struggle, the man pulls out a gun and shoots El Tiger, causing him to fall to his knees. Otaola pointed out that Valdez-Galoso – known as “El Nara” – was the only resident of the house, raising suspicions of his direct involvement. The distant camera angle makes it difficult to clearly identify the shooter, which is why Damian has not been formally charged. Otaola claims police suspect Damian may be hiding in New York.
Police and public appeal
So far, authorities in Miami have neither confirmed nor denied the existence of the video mentioned by both the journalist and the influencer. Manuel MoralesMiami’s police chief ruled out suicide shortly after the incident, describing it as a “criminal act.” Morales appealed to the public for assistance in locating Damian Valdes-Galoso, 49, who was named a “person of interest” in the investigation into the death of the reggaeton artist.
El Tiger died on October 10 after spending a week in critical condition Jackson Memorial Hospitalafter he was discovered in a car with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigations revealed he was among the last people to see the reggaeton star before he was found injured.
Community reaction and public reactions
Recently, a relative of Damian Valdez-Galozo urged the public not to vilify the family on social media. She also shared opinions about El Taiger that could be considered hurtful or inappropriate by his fans, who are collectively mourning the loss. In a lengthy YouTube broadcast, Evelyn — a relative of Valdez — criticized certain influential people for what she sees as a media witch hunt against her nephew, which she says is also harming the entire family by sharing private photos online.
Authorities have offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the whereabouts of Damian Valdez. He is described as 5’09”, weighs approximately 186 pounds, with brown eyes and hair and tattoos on both arms and chest.
