Miami Dolphins host second annual Jason Jenkins Day of Service to honor former senior team member – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

HIALIA, FL. (WSVN) – The Miami Dolphins hosted a community event to continue their legacy.

The team held the annual Jason Jenkins Day of Service for the second year in a row. This year, the event falls on what would have been Jenkins’ 50th birthday.

The event is named after the team’s former senior vice president of communications and public affairs, who died in 2022.

The event attracted 700 volunteers to work on 20 community projects in South Florida.

Jenkins’ widow said that although he is no longer with them, she shares his passion with their children.

“What could be a sad day and you turn it into a great memory by giving back and I love that they can live through that and do what their dad loved to do, which is give back to their community and that’s the most – the best gift I could ask for them,” Elizabeth Jenkins said.

Jenkins served the Miami Dolphins and the South Florida community for 14 years.
