HIALIA, FL – A lucky person won a $1 million prize in Miami-Dade County this week after playing a scratch-off lottery game, lottery officials announced Friday.
Miguel Villavicencio, 59, of Hialeah, claimed his $1 million prize this week after playing the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular scratch-off game.
According to lottery officials, Villavicencio chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, one-time payment of $685,000.
He purchased the scratch ticket at Las Cuatro Hermanas Supermarket located at 810 E. 41st St. in Hialeah.
The store will receive a bonus commission of $2,000 for the sale of the winning ticket.
“The $5 Gold Rush Doubler Scratch-Off game features more than $188 million in prize money, including 28 top prizes of $1 million! The overall odds of winning the game are 1 in 3.98,” the Florida Lottery confirmed in a press release.
