WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Winston-Salem State University men’s basketball team revealed its schedule for the 2024-25 season on Thursday morning. Season highlights include participation in the Virgin Island Tournament, December 13-15 and the Chris Paul HBCU Tip-Off Challenge, December 19-20.
WSSU will open the season in the Conference Challenge on Nov. 8-9 against Shepherd University and Gannon University, respectively.
The men’s basketball team will welcome its fans back to the CE Gaines Center for its Nov. 16 home game against Francis Marion University. On November 20, Belmont Abbey College will be at WSSU to compete against the Rams. They will finish the month at home on November 26 against Lander University.
As December approaches, WSSU will host Carolina Christian College on December 9th.
With the new year upon us, the Rams will kick things off on the road at Elizabeth City State University on January 4th. WSSU will stay on the road on the road to Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia on January 6th. Men’s basketball returns home on January 11th, hosting Bluefield State University and then Lincoln University (PA) on Monday, January 13th. WSSU will host Claflin University on Saturday, January 18 before hosting Fayetteville State University on January 20. The Rams will hit the road on January 22nd to take on Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina. On Monday the 27th, the Rams will host Virginia Union before heading to Charlotte to take on Johnson K. Smith on January 30th.
WSSU will begin the month by traveling to Salisbury, NC to take on Livingston on February 1st. On February 3rd, the Rams will return home to play the Bowie State Bulldogs. WSSU will head south to Orangeburg, SC on February 8th to take on Claflin University. Johnson K. Smith will meet the Rams at home on February 11th, then on Thursday, February 13th, the Rams will travel to Fayetteville State University to compete. The Rams will finish their season at home with the final two pre-tournament games against Shaw University on February 20th and Livingston on February 22nd.
The CIAA Tournament will be held in Baltimore, Maryland at the Royal Farms Arena.
