Waverly – Sometimes there is a big difference between two teams. The biggest difference between Minford Lady Falcons and Chesapeake Lady Panthers was 6 feet-4.
6-4 Menford Senior Center Lindsay Williams scored 18 points when Lady Foldons defeated Lady Panters and won 44-31 on Wednesday at the Division County semi-final in the center of Waverly in the center of the Arena.
“They were too big and the physicality of the game wore us,” said Lady Panters coach Chris Ball.
Williams scored the first 6 points of the match before Kate Ball of Lady Panters made a fake shot at 4:05. Then she hit a 3-indicator and was 6-4.
Williams finished with 8 points in a quarter, as Menford led 12-10 lead. Ball scored all points of Chesapik.
Abby Mitchell struck a 7:12 stack on the clock to tie the game at 12-all. The formation of Isaac abbey had dropped Chesapike with 16-14, but Milford scored the last 6 points of a quarter to lead 22-14 at halftime.
The coach Bal said that Lady Panthers remained closed due to the leadership of the elderly Erin Hicks, Sierra Akers and Kate Ball. But Lady Panters jumped out of the third quarter and Menford stretched out her lead.
“We kept it nearly early. Kate shot him well and we were fighting in defense. We had a small running to finish the second quarter, “said coach Bal.
“The third quarter we gave up some transition baskets. You can’t do this against a team like Menford. “
Ball struck the Trifect to start the second half, and Chesapik was 22-17 with 5:27 on the clock.
Ava Kronin hit 15-foot, and Williams and Lexi Congl made a layout when the lead went to 28-17.
Chesapike did not score until the Ball dropped a fake 1:43 clock shot, but Kereigan Davis struck 3-indicated, and Maggie Risner had a sort of 33-18 to finish the quarter.
Ball scored 9 points in the fourth quarter, which included a pair of long 3-stories and Chesapik surpassed Menford 13-11, but it was a bit of what Lady Panthers had to catch Lady Falcons.
Ball ended his career by scoring 23 points in the game until she made six 3-indicatives.
