BUC-EE’s looks at Tallahassee as a contender for his next Florida store.

Democrat Tallahassee has received confirmation that BUC-EE, the home of the largest comfort store in Luling, Texas, has applied for a permit for the Leon County Government, which is being reviewed.

“BUC-EES has taken the first tangible step in the County Authorization process by presenting a check on the authorized use (PUV) on Friday, February 7th,” said Leon Mateo Caul County spokesman in an email to the Democrat.

The two -page document offers scarce details, in addition to a proposed 75,000 -square -foot shop of approximately 73 acres on the west side of the northwest metropolitan circle, just north of the Interstate 10.

The proposed tourist center will be in the southeast corner of the planned Park Place unit. In terms of size, the offered Tallahasesee store will be on the point of swinging the chain as the largest convenience store in the world of 75 593 square feet.

“The Travel Center building will include mainly retail use with a fast food fast food service (without expulsion). In addition to the travel center building, the proposed plan includes 120 fuel positions, 8 def positions, 795 standard parking spaces, 24, 24 EV parking spaces and 11 bus/RV parking spaces, “according to the document. “Parking will be located on all sides of the building with the loading positions located at the rear (west) of the building.”

Joining the C-Store trend that comes in Tallahassee

BUC-EE will be the last C-Store national chain to expand in the capital. Last year, Wawa debuted its first Tallahasesee store at Capital Circle Northwest and Hartsfield Road less than a mile from where Buc-Ee could create his own store.

Since then, Wawa opened second last month in Miccosukee and Blair Stone Roads with plans for four to 6 stores in the coming years. In addition, Sunstop is another C-Store name that pumps its presence in Tallahassee with new places, including a Thomasville and Ox Bottom planned roads.

In 2024, the American customer satisfaction index compiled its list of Top 10 customer satisfaction among C-magazines and BUC-EE # 3 rankings behind the Quiktrip of # 2 and WAW of # 1.

Based on Lake Jackson, Texas, Buc-Ee’s has nearly 50 stores across the country and 37 stores in the country Lone Star. According to the company in 2019, it began its multi -state expansion in Alabama and began its plans to expand with new places in Georgia and Florida, including St. Augustine and Dayton Beach.
