From free grief support groups, they came to encounter online groups that explore the grief through images, the Chesapeake Life Center offers a variety of adult grief groups this spring.
- Grief Support Groups are open to anyone who grieves. Groups offer participants the opportunity to share their feelings and to receive support from others who have a loss. There is no fee. These groups will meet in Calvert County as follows:
- Senior Center of North Beach, 9010 Chesapeake Ave., North Beach, Maryland, 1 am to 2 pm Wednesday, April 2, May 7 and June 4.
- Soundern Pines Senior Center, 20 Apply Lane, Lusby, Maryland, 2 to 3 pm Tuesday, April 8, May 13 and June 10.
- Calvert Pines Senior Center, 450 W. Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick, Maryland, 1 am to 2 pm Tuesday, April 15, May 20 and 17 June.
The following groups require registration and in some cases may require a fee:
- SoulCollage Studio – Join us personally or practically for a while to create unique collages that reflect and express loss and life through life. It will meet from 2pm to 5pm on Monday, April 7, at 9500 Medical Center Drive, Suite 250, Largo, Maryland. The delivery fee is $ 10.
- Loss of Partner/Spouse of Life Evening group is a group for people grieving for the death of a spouse or partner of life. He will meet from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, April 9, May 14 and June 11 at the campus of John and Katie Belcher, 90 Richie Highway, Pasadena, Maryland. The price is $ 10.
- Parent or Parental Figure Support Group Provides space for those who grieve for the loss of a parent or parent figure to get together in order to feel supported in their grief. The group will meet from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, April 10, May 8 and June 12 at the campus of John and Katie Belcher, 90 Richie Highway, Pasadena, Maryland. The price is free.
- A group to support children’s losses is for parents grieving for the death of a child, regardless of age or circumstances. He will meet from 5:30 pm to 7 pm on Monday, April 28, May 19 and June 30 at the campus of John and Katie Belcher, 90 Richie Highway, Pasadena, Maryland. The price is $ 10.
- The healing power of nature: Group Group Maintenance Group is a free, nature -informed program that will include immersive walks in nature, a time spent by focusing on the seasons cycle and working with natural objects to contain and express the experience with grief. It will be held from 11 am to 1 pm Thursday, 1, 8, 22 and 29, at Greenbelt Park, 6565 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, Maryland.
Child care is not provided and children are not allowed in any of these groups.
The following groups will meet practically through Zoom for healthcare:
- Loss of Partner/Spouse of Life Virtual group is a free group for people grieving for the death of a spouse or life partner. He will meet from 10:30 am until noon Tuesday, April 8, May 13 and June 10 through Zoom.
- SoulCollage virtual maintenance group for loss and transition is a free group with participants creating collages to commemorate lost loved ones and visually transform the grief process. The group will meet from 18 to 8pm Monday, May 5 through Zoom.
