HIALIA – A man was fatally shot after an argument turned violent at a tire repair shop early Saturday morning, according to Hialeah police.
Police say 29-year-old Michael Lope Montes De Oca went to a mobile tire repair shop to fix his car.
The mechanic, Brandon Hurst, 36, met Lope Montes De Oca around 1:30 a.m., according to police.
Lope Montes De Oca is said to have been “annoyed” that Hurst had placed a used tire on his car. Lopez Montes De Oca was then charged with threatening and assaulting Hearst with a machete.
The mechanic then shot Lope Montes De Oca several times, killing him, according to police.
Detectives say it was a “justified shooting in self-defense.”
