• RAMP has confirmed this “Evil Jean” Fremont left as APD and morning co-host on Beasley Classic Hip Hop WMGC (105.1 The Bounce)/Detroit after a two-year reign as his position was eliminated. A glance at The Bounce website shows that the co-host Shannon Renee remains on board as a solo act.
Fremont arrived in the Motor City in October 2022, making a significant jump to the market from Knoxville, TN, where he was PD/afternoon talent at SummitMedia Rhythmic WKHT (Hot 104.5). This was Fremont’s second tour with WKHT – he worked there under a previous owner until 2018, followed by an on-air stint with the former CMG Top 40 WPYO (95.3 Power)/Orlandobefore returning to WKHT in November 2019.
In a Facebook post, Fremont said, “They say all good things come to an end and that includes my time at BOUNCE and in Detroit. My position at Beasley Media was eliminated and Thursday was my last day with the company. Over the past two years, we’ve laughed, cried, celebrated, and done a lot of really stupid things. Kudos to Shannon for being a star for welcoming me (when the first day we met was my first day at work) and helping me make my job easier every day by being such a professional!” He added: “I do morning show was never my goal, but I’m glad I had the opportunity to do it in this city. I never thought I would go from afternoons in Knoxville to mornings in Detroit, but it happened and it still blows my mind.” Fremont says he’s “excited to spend more time with my family in Florida while I figure out what’s next. With how 2024 has turned out, this is certainly needed. All love, always.”
