The Mayor of Hyalia has confirmed that he is retiring and moves with his family to the nation’s capital.
After almost four years, the mayor of Hyaliah Esteban Bovo said he would free up the office, although he did not publicly say when.
Bovo, whose earlier unconfirmed departure was widely reported last month, told Telemundo 51 that he would join his family in Washington, where he says he is considering prospects for work.
Following the appointment and confirmation of Secretary of State Marco Rubio earlier this year, Bovo told the Spanish television station that his wife, a longtime Rubio officer, has joined the State Department to continue working for the former US senator.
Last month, Miami Herald It reports that BOV has received an unknown package of compensation from a DC lobbying company. His current mayoral salary comes to $ 150,000. Although he did not confirm whether he would take this offer.
According to the city charter of Hyaleya, council chairman Jacqueline Garcia-Rose will become a temporary president for the rest of Bovo’s term. Hialeah will choose a new mayor in November.
