Topeka, Kan. (WIBW) – Topeka Mayor Mike Padila announced on Tuesday that he would not run for re -election of the next election.
Padila made a message at the mayor’s press conference on Tuesday morning in the Holiday building, 620 SE Madison St. in the center of Topeka.
Before serving as a selected employee, Padila served 34 years in the Topeka police station.
A native of the capital, he had previously served in the Topeka Municipal Council from 2017 to 2021.
He was then elected mayor of the capital, serving in this capacity since January 2022.
